Saks Fifth Avenue - Manhattan - Client with a professional license - Client was accused of stealing numerous dresses valued at over $3,500 - Charged with a class D felony because the value exceeded $3,000 - Client faced 2.3 to 7 years in State Prison and permanent loss of professional license - After extensive negotiations with District Attorney occurring over several months, case successfully dismissed and the record sealed (M#620)
Uniqlo - Brooklyn - Client observed taking a shirt and hiding it - Client then purchased other items and stopped when attempting to exit - Client signed admission inside store but told police would not be called - Case resolved with no criminal record, no international travel consequences (#1450)
Barney's - Manhattan - Client observed taking $700 of merchandise, hiding it in a bag, and attempting to leave without paying - Store security arrested client, client confessed and held for the police - Client's second arrest for the same thing - Case successfully resolved with a small fine, no criminal record, no probation (#1168)
Lord&Taylor - Manhattan - Client observed going into fitting room with clothing but exiting fitting room without them - Stopped when about to leave and the clothing was found inside client's personal bag - Client detained in holding cell inside store - Criminal charges dropped, record sealed (M#1172)
Target - Bronx - Client with professional license accused of stealing merchandise - Case successfully dismissed (M#1052)
Sephora – Manhattan - Client attempted to leave with over $1,000.00 of merchandise – Client faced felony charges - Criminal charges dropped, record sealed (M#201)
Shoprite - Staten Island - Client attempted to leave with merchandise - Client faced job-loss if convicted - After extensive negotiations, criminal charges successfully dropped, record sealed (M#752)
Saks Fifth Avenue - Manhattan - Client observed placing approximately $900 of clothing in client's purse and leaving store– All charges dismissed and the record sealed (M#471)
Macy's – Manhattan – Client was under the influence of prescription medication – Client, suffering from depression, was observed taking and concealing several clothing items – Macy's aggressively arrested client and forced client to sign several documents before calling the police – Client did not know the nature of client's actions – Case dismissed, record sealed (M#355)
Century 21 - Manhattan - International business traveler from Europe - Client was observed attempting to leave with about $800 in unpaid luggage - Almost a felony - All charges dismissed and the record sealed - Client successfully excused from personally appearing (M#1053)
Macy's – Manhattan – International tourist – Client was observed hiding several clothing items in a shopping bag and attempting to leave without paying – Client lives in South America and was here visiting at the time – Case resolved without client ever traveling back to the U.S. – All charges dismissed, record sealed, no international travel consequences (M#449)
Century 21 – Brooklyn – Out of State Client – Client was observed switching several price tags in order to reduce the price – Client arrested at the register – Client lives in the Southern U.S. – Client excused for personally appearing in court in NY – All charges dismissed, record sealed (M#578)
Target - Upstate NY - Client was attempting to leave with several clothing items - Client had a criminal history – Case dismissed, record sealed (C#288-2010)
Macy's – Manhattan – Non-citizen client - Client was accused of taking several earrings and bracelets and a chain from a display and concealing these items – Undercover store security officers arrested client – client was forced to sign paperwork, tricked into paying a civil demand and arrested – Case dismissed, record sealed, no immigration consequences (M#316)
Bloomingdales - Manhattan - Client attempted to leave with $800.00 of clothing - All charges dismissed, record sealed (M#303)
J. Crew - Manhattan - Client caught with clothing hidden in client's purse while attempting to leave store – nearly $500 of merchandise - All charges dropped, record sealed (M#165)
Macy's - Manhattan - Client caught attempting to leave with fur coat valued at almost $3,000 - all criminal charges dropped, small fine (C#193-2010)
Saks Fifth Avenue - Manhattan – Felony - A client was prosecuted in Manhattan for stealing over $4,000.00 in property from a retail store. It was the client's second time facing such charges. Case resolved with no jail time, no probation and a small fine although client initially faced up to four years in state prison. This case was covered in several newspapers. (C#18B)
Apple Store Soho - Manhattan - Misdemeanor - Client was accused of trying to steal a $400 pair of headphones and client was also unable to appear in court on the "return date" listed on the face of his desk appearance ticket - criminal charges successfully dropped, client's inability to appear in court was resolved so that he could appear later. (C#729)
Macy's - Manhattan - Client and non-citizen was accused of stealing over $900 of merchandise - This was observed by store security and on video - Nearly a felony - All charges dismissed and photograph and fingerprints destroyed - Serious conviction related immigration consequences avoided (C#1055)
Woodbury Commons - Woodbury - Client observed concealing several items and attempting to leave without paying - All charges dismissed and record sealed (M#1128)
